I have wanted a mezzaluna for a long time. I'm glad I waited and got this larger one. The seller was very helpful in answering questions and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him again. The larger mezzaluna minces herbs from my garden nicely, but it also does more. I use it daily. It is quite sharp and that is good for mincing and rough chopping. The little cover requires some finesse and pressure to apply and remove. I can see a slip of the hand causing injury. I mounted another magnetic strip to the side of the cabinets over my sink and hang it there for storage. It is safer and easily accessible. I'm glad I have the little sleeve, though; I have appropriated it for tracing designs on my artwork.

I have been using the mezzaluna for chopped salad and pesto mainly. But the reason I thought of it is because I broke my right wrist and was concerned about my strength using a knife. The mezzaluna is very stable since I can use both hands. It’s so easy and the food doesn’t jump around on the cutting board. I thought it might be overkill but it’s perfect!
